WHAT TO SEE
Your visit to Padang does not worth without stopping by Siti Nurbaya Bridge. The 60 meters bridge crossing a river named Batang Arau connects the old town of Padang to Siti Nurbaya Park, the cemetery of Siti Nurbaya. Food sellers are easily found along the bridge, and even livelier when the sun starts to slid down. But food is not all the interesting thing here, but the picturesque scenery, Mount Padang, antique buildings of the old town, and landing fishermen boats.
Air Manis Beach is the favorite family outing spot for local residents. Light brown sand spans along the coast. The view of Pulau Pisang Kecil, a small island which is reachable by walk, is also quite attractive. People used to spend their time laying back on the island whilst enjoying picnic meal in lull of soft ocean breeze.

Songket is favorite luxurious gift from Padang. Time consuming process and unique material attracts many visitors, including foreign tourists, regardless of the price. Silungkang is among a few shop with the most unique collection. Various motives of traditional songket is combined with golden threads.
